Savusavu Fiji Citizen Science Dive with Jean-Michel Cousteau Jan 2023
Bula!
Dive in with Reef Ecologic Scientist, Julia Saper, and Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort Fiji divers as they conduct Coral Watch Surveys to measure the health of local reefs off of Savusavu, Fiji. Reefs are vitally important to the health of our planet and are especially important to small Pacific Island nations, such as Fiji. The Great Sea Reef of Fiji is the third longest, continuous barrier reef system in the world. Fijians epitomize a strong sense of connection to the reef as a source of cultural identity, sustenance and coastal protection. Through global citizen science efforts, and shared experiences on the reef, we are also reminded of how connected we are to eachother.
